Founded in 1973, the National Gardening Association (NGA) is the largest nonprofit association of home, school, and community gardeners in the United States. Our mission is to cultivate new gardeners and help flower and food growing enthusiasts become better gardeners. We accomplish this through our award-winning publications, Web sites, school gardening programs, research, and special grants for projects that unleash the power of gardening.
The National Gardening Association has a rich history in magazine, book, and custom publishing. The award-winning National Gardening magazine was known for its 20 years of cutting edge, high quality gardening information and design innovation. NGA has worked with many book publishers to create more than 40 practical and inspirational gardening books.
NGA also creates special custom publications and programs to help lawn and garden companies promote their products and educate their customers. More recently, NGA has become a leader in Internet-based content syndication and custom projects, leveraging its vast content libraries, community services, and e-marketing expertise.
Books. Authoring books in the popular & for Dummies series for John Wiley & Sons, NGA has reached more than one million gardeners with national best-selling books on a dozen topics including Roses, Perennials, Annuals, Landscaping, Organic Gardening, and Houseplants. We have also created successful projects for Villard, Houghton-Mifflin, and Addison Wesley. In addition, NGA has self-published more than 20 titles.
Sponsored Educational Publications. NGA focuses on hands-on gardening education programs and awards for kids, parents, teachers, and community organizers. We publish custom newsletters, books, posters, and videos. Some clients benefiting from co-branded publishing include Scotts, National Garden Bureau, Johnny's Selected Seeds, Hilton Garden Inns and the National Science Foundation.
Endorsements. NGA is a leading gardening authority and a trusted, friendly voice whose expertise gardeners have come to respect and rely on. Improve your sales by having the nation's most widely recognized nonprofit gardening organization endorse and help promote your products. Endorsement programs often include several NGA marketing services.
Sponsored Grants and Awards Programs. NGA designs and administers custom school and community awards and recognition programs that showcase lawn and garden company products. Let NGA become your partner in charitable giving that creates great exposure and good will. Socially responsible companies that work with NGA include Gardener's Supply, Fine Gardening, Mantis, Home Depot, Cub Foods, and many others.
Gardening Market Research. NGA's National Gardening Survey tracks U.S. lawn and garden trends through our Harris Poll survey. We also offer custom market research and online surveys to help clients assess product needs and trends. Some recent companies benefiting from this service include the International Turf Producers Foundation, Netherlands Flower Bulb Information Center, and Mailorder Gardening Association.
Custom Promotional Publications. Through custom newsletters, calendars, brochures, inserts, and point of purchase materials, NGA helps companies enhance product sales and customer loyalty. NGA provides complete editorial, design, and produc-tion services. Recent clients include Stanley Tools, Burpee, and The Time Factory.
With more than 30 years of gardening publishing experience, we know a little about what gardeners want. NGA owns one of the largest content databases and is continually developing new publications and programs. The NGA staff has extensive editorial, design, and production expertise. Through mail, the Web, and special promotions we reach more than 500,000 consumers each month. We help our partners market their products by employing our unique knowledge of the gardening marketplace and market reach.
