Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Troubleshooting FAQ #1:

During a prolonged warm spell in January, I noticed that some of my perennials had sprouted. What should I do? Will they be killed by the next hard freeze?

Answer:

Though you may not be able to save these early sprouts from freeze damage, you can help protect the crown of the plant by covering it with a light mulch such as straw or finely shredded bark. If the plants are hardy in your region, they should resume growth once the weather warms.
