get down to business! Well begin with a sketch of the garden, including
the location of the trellis and teepee, and note any special characteristics.
Then well pencil in the crops. Well use a basic layout, but
remember, feel free to use your imagination when you create your design!

sowings of lettuce. The bed in the foreground is ready to harvest.
Factors we considered
in making this plan:
- The peas will have
gone by before the cucumbers get large enough to shade them.
- By sowing lettuce
every two weeks, well have a continuous supply.
- Well sow
more peas for a fall crop on the north side of the trellis. The cucumbers
will provide some shade for the cool-weather peas.
