At this point we have covered all of the major "daily" activities of the plant except...reproduction. This is unarguably the most important activity for the plant-it ensures that there will be future generations to carry on the family name! There are two ways that plants can reproduce: sexually and asexually. The distinction between these two types of reproduction is very important because it affects the species' ability to adapt to changing environments. Since it came first, evolutionarily, and it is the type we are most familiar with, we will begin by exploring sexual reproduction.
